Osmosis
What we are
We are a collective carving out alternative, accessible and slow spaces in the art world; focusing on togetherness with people and materials. We are socially-engaged artists working collaboratively in the field of art and ecology.
Osmosis describes exchanges of absorption and permeation, a metaphor for our ethos of interaction and collaboration.
Our practices more broadly explore the separation of bodies (human/non-human) to the earth; we aim to create moments of interconnection that extend beyond the individualised self, generating collectivity and connectivity. Our work is material led.
Our creative practices bleed into each other, with a strong focus on dismantling the ownership and hierarchy of the individual artist and spectator dynamic. Collaboration is at the forefront; materials, process and space is shared, artists are facilitators and viewers are engagers. Using found materials as evidence for lived experience, relational works fall between paintings, installation, craft, poetry, performance and tangible entanglements.
